What is Considered to be an End of life vehicle (ELV)?
This is normally a vehicle which BER (Beyond Economic Repair) or that is no longer useful to the owner. Vehicles which are Categorised by insurance Companies and are BER have to follow strict guidelines regarding their disposal. Vehicles which are no longer useful to the owner will normally be 10 or more years old and may cost excessive amounts of money to run and maintain. These vehicles can be broken down into reusable parts which are fitted to other vehicles and the remaining frame of the vehicle is compacted and sent away for refinement.
